I'm not sure if that metaphor worked.
Let's just say that there were good and bad parts of my day today. My obligation to you is to talk about the good:
Present Scrabble score versus sister: 199 to 159. I'm smiling. So you can guess who is winning.
Leftover Indian food is delicious. We all know this. I swear it might even get better.
I actually might not die in my Osteology class. It might be ok.
My fellow executives for the Amnesty International Club on campus seem like they will be easy to work with.
I now have PB&J. Clearly a student staple.
My university has a service-learning project that is the exact sort of thing I'm interested in: Indigenous Leadership and Engagement in which "students will obtain NAPI certification while learning about social justice, reciprocity, and Indigenous ways of knowing". Plus it might be in the Canadian North. Yah. Yah. That's how cool it is.
Leslie messaged me on Facebook. She's a cool kid that I met over the summer and haven't gotten to speak with for awhile, so that was a nice surprise.
I must admit. I'm a little hungry which is distracting me from thinking of more smiles but I know there were more today. And I bet you have smiled too. But I bet you're not smiling as much as me. Because there's hunger in my belly and a lasagna in the oven.
